TLH shows proven
results in a disaster.
Family Auto purchased
Tom Wood Pontiac on August 1, 2008 and I have been
involved in implementing and re-designing their network.
I am responsible for the entire infrastructure of data
processing, security, etc… TL had to mobilize new
computers, printers, battery back-ups, servers etc… for
over 100 employees. On Saturday August 16, 2008 the
dealership caught on fire and it was estimated that the
damage was around 1.5 million dollars. Over one hundred
thousand of that was computer equipment that has to be
replaced.
TLH has been working
nonstop since Saturday August 16th (really the first of
the month) to re-route all IT applications. It was
imperative that TLH get the network up and running so
people could return to work on Monday to continue to
support their families. Come to find out, we would not
have power to the building until late Monday evening (IPL
Regulations). The dealership was closed on Monday due to
the power issue and by Tuesday morning August 19, 2008
the dealership was open for business. Car sales were
re-routed to a used car trailer and Service, Parts, and
the Body Shop were running on the new network that was
designed and implemented by TLH. There was no data loss
on any servers, we were even able to recover data from
two computers that were in the middle of the hot zone.
